Preptec Solutions surface preparation technologies allows for all surface areas of an aircraft to be efficiently surface prepared on either composite or metallic surfaces. The technology operates under industry approved specifications & is used for maintenance and new manufacture.
Preptec have designed & developed a variety of closed loop blast tools which range from air intakes to surface preparation of fuselage seems that eliminate media ingress.
- The jet engine air intake closed loop surface preparation tool is fully automated.
- It is designed to automatically travel on a 360 degree rotation to surface prepare a cylindrical structure.
- The blast nozzle travels horizontally via automation and gives 510mm (20”) length stroke.
- This technology will work with any blast media type.
- Situated close to the blast nozzle is a night vision camera connected to a display monitor that allows the operators to have full visual of all internal operations.
- These custom designed closed loop tools work in conjunction with the Preptec Z1-500 vacuum and reclamation system.
- The technology is the only approved ZONE 1 certified equipment of its kind worldwide designed to work in a ZONE 1 environment, on fueled aircraft.
- The Z1-500 plant fully recovers all media & paint chips etc. then recycles the media whilst automatically reloading the recycled media to a reload hopper positioned over the blast pot.
- Eliminates health and safety concerns of personnel working in confined areas as well as potential vibration white finger claims.
- The system complies with Atex 95 and 94/9/CE regulations and directives.
- Can be supplied for non ZONE 1 conditions if required.
Preptec Z1-500 main components:
Air compressor, air receiver, media and recovery silos, vibratory screening, filtration of fine particles, magnetic separator, anti static dousing (for PMB operation), computerised control systems, twin blast pot allows multiple tools to be used in tandem.
